We will begin the month with a concert by the enchanting singer Judita Leitaitė and three other exceptional talents, filling the air with beloved, heartwarming music. The third weekend of September will bring the presentation of Vytenis Danielius’s debut album—a beautiful intertwining of classical refinement, the freedom of jazz improvisation, and the warmth of contemporary music. On the final Saturday of the month, pianist Onutė Gražinytė and cellist Edward King will perform a concert dedicated to Arvo Pärt, presenting the jubilee CD “Spiegel im Spiegel”. Finally, on Sunday, audiences will be treated to an evening of music and poetry with actress Nijolė Narmontaitė and accordionist Andrius Balachovičius.

Taking the stage is the Vytenis Danielius Trio: accordionist and vocalist Vytenis Danielius, guitarist Mindaugas Stumbras, and double bassist Nerijus Ardzevičius. V. Danielius is a laureate of prestigious accordion competitions, performing at renowned international festivals across Europe, Asia, and beyond. He holds three higher education diplomas in music—in classical accordion, jazz vocals, and saxophone. Such multifaceted experience has shaped his broad musical spectrum, ranging from classical interpretations to the freedom of jazz improvisation. His debut album, “Shades of Heart”, invites the listener on an emotional journey where classical refinement, jazz improvisation, and the warmth of contemporary music gently intertwine. Each piece reflects the varying shades of the heart: some breathe with light and hope, while others lean into melancholy or quiet introspection.
September 26, 4:00 PM | Dedication to Arvo Pärt. Presentation of the Jubilee CD “Spiegel im Spiegel”
A concert dedicated to Arvo Pärt and the presentation of the jubilee CD “Spiegel im Spiegel” will take place in the Paliesius Manor concert hall. The program, presented by pianist Onutė Gražinytė and cellist Edward King, will feature the music of O. Messiaen, juxtapose some of A. Pärt’s most significant chamber works, and include compositions by A. Schnittke and J. S. Bach, as well as J. Cage’s silent “4’33”. Although the program includes only two pieces by Arvo Pärt himself, all the surrounding music will beautifully unveil his spiritual and artistic universe.
Onutė Gražinytė performs worldwide as a soloist and chamber music artist, feeling equally at home with classical and contemporary repertoires. She performs actively in a duo with her husband, cellist Edward King, and is highly regarded for her creative programming and deep musical insights. Edward King is a laureate of the 11th Witold Lutosławski and the Markneukirchen International Cello Competitions. He was also awarded a special prize, presented to him by Krzysztof Penderecki himself, for his interpretation of “Divertimento” at the Penderecki International Cello Competition.

An evening of music and poetry, “Apie Tave ir Tau”, awaits you. This is a soulful program prepared by actress Nijolė Narmontaitė alongside accordion master Andrius Balachovičius. N. Narmontaitė will read the verses of her favorite authors, truly living every word. A. Balachovičius is one of the finest accordion virtuosos in Lithuania—his instrument will act as a second voice, enriching the poetry with dramatic flair, French charm, and delicate melancholy, weaving a deeply evocative atmosphere. Their duo is cherished for how the music and the spoken word never overshadow one another, but rather elevate each other. The program will also feature romances and songs performed by N. Narmontaitė, seamlessly intertwining with the literary texts.
