Description

"Shades of Heart" is Vytenis Danielius's debut album, inviting the listener on an emotional journey where the refinement of classical music, the freedom of jazz improvisation, and the warmth of contemporary music intertwine. Each piece seems to reflect the shades of the heart: some breathe with light and hope, others with melancholy or introspection. V. Danielius is an accordionist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and laureate of prestigious accordion competitions. His musical career includes performances at renowned international festivals in Europe, Asia, and beyond. Having studied in Lithuania and trained in Italy, the Netherlands, and Latvia, the performer has earned three higher education diplomas in music—in the fields of classical accordion, jazz vocals, and saxophone. Such a multifaceted background has shaped his broad musical spectrum: from interpretations of classical music to jazz improvisation.

“This vinyl record is my first album, long in the making. It is not just a collection of musical pieces, but a journey I wish to share. I poured every side of my creativity into this album—from the most sensitive to the boldest, from the brightest to the darkest. It is music that provides meaning and inspires me every day,” says V. Danielius.

The debut album intertwines elements of classical, jazz, and tango music. Together with guitarist Mindaugas Stumbras and double bassist Nerijus Ardzevičius, V. Danielius has discovered the sound of an accordion jazz trio. The album features original compositions by V. Danielius (“Rytas”, “Pasivaikščiojimas po lietaus”, “Vidurnaktis”, “Pergalė”, “Kelias į Jeruzalę”) as well as rearranged works by music legends Richard Galliano, Astor Piazzolla, and Eddy Louiss.
