In anticipation of the impressive first concert of the „Kremerata Baltica“ festival, we invite you to discover Burgundy – one of the most famous winemaking regions in France! Two main grape varieties, wine from specific vineyard plots (also known as climat), small quantities, and sometimes unfathomable prices – yes, this is Burgundy! During the tasting, we will learn what makes this French wine region, which has gained fame over the past two decades, so unique, and we will taste wines that reflect it. And our chef will provide snacks subtly paired with the wine.
Champagne—the king of sparkling wine! Yet it is certainly not the only creation worthy of attention in the world of sparkling wines. This summer afternoon in the wine cellar, we will delight not only in champagne but in a selection of other wonderfully effervescent pours. We will discover what they share with the king of beverages, and what sets them apart. Together, we will explore the subtleties of their crafting and production processes. We will examine the etiquette of bubbles and discuss just why this classic libation never goes out of style. And what foods or bites best complement sparkling wines? We will delve into that as well. We warmly await all admirers of sparkling wines!
Have you ever heard of a place called Gigondas? Or Cornas? Do you know how to decipher Pouilly-Fumé, or where it lies? Even if you have never heard of these French wine regions or villages, it does not mean they do not produce exceptional wine. During this Žolinės, before the concert by the renowned French pianist Jean-Marc Luisada, we will seek to transport ourselves to the lesser-known regions of France and discover their wines.
In the Paliesius Manor concert hall, Lars Danielsson will unveil the secrets of Nordic jazz—while we, in the Manor wine cellar, delve into French wines. An inviting journey through the world of French wine awaits you, guided by a beverage connoisseur who will illuminate its subtleties and answer your every question. We will travel from the north of France to the south, pausing to explore the wines of various regions, their distinct aromas, and hidden flavors. During this afternoon of open discovery, 6–8 different wines will await you, alongside captivating stories, newfound aromas and flavors, and warm, lively conversation. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend an afternoon slowly, deliciously, and meaningfully.
