Description

On October 24, we invite you to the opening of Benedikta Jakštienė’s exhibition “Encounters in Nature” and a meeting with the artist.

Benedikta Jakštienė was born in 1964 in the village of Kiniūnai, Ignalina district. She lives in Švenčionėliai, Švenčionys district.

She has been interested in photography since 1982. She is a member of the nature photographers’ club “Žalias skėtis”.

She has participated in collective exhibitions in the Švenčionys and Ignalina districts, Vilnius, Visaginas, Utena, and Dusetos, as well as in Lithuanian photography exhibitions in Chicago (USA), the International Photo Miniature Exhibition in Švenčionys, and Earth Day exhibitions in Utena. “Encounters in Nature” is her first solo exhibition.

She primarily photographs nature.

Her creative motto: “Nature is the best artist.”

The creator of the exhibition “Encounters in Nature” says:

“Photography is an opportunity for me to immortalize moments that will never happen again—because even if you find yourself in the exact same place, at the exact same time of year, the scene will be different, unrepeatable.

I love photographing nature, landscapes, and animals. During the quarantine, having accidentally discovered the habitats of moose and deer, I was fortunate enough to encounter and photograph these animals many times. I was captivated by their elegance and composed tranquility. I also admire the grace and curiosity of foxes and roe deer—when they spot a human, they run, but then usually stop, turn back to see who it was, and allow themselves to be photographed. Seeing an animal in the wild sparks a certain thrill to capture it. I feel incredibly happy when I succeed.

A single moment of this magnificent world, captured by a camera, offers the chance to admire these sights for a long time and to share that beauty with others.”

The exhibition will run until November 29, 2026.
