“About You and For You”

On September 27, we invite you to Paliesius Manor for a special evening of music and poetry, “About You and For You.” This is a program prepared for the soul by actress Nijolė Narmontaitė and accordion master Andrius Balachovičius.

It is more than just a poetry reading. A musical and literary performance awaits, in which Nijolė will recite the verses of her favorite authors, deeply feeling every word. Andrius Balachovičius is one of Lithuania’s finest accordion virtuosos—his instrument will serve as a second voice, complementing the poetry, infusing it with drama, French charm, and melancholy, and weaving the evening’s atmosphere. Andrius can draw an orchestral resonance from the accordion, moving from a quiet whisper to powerful chords. Their duet is cherished for how the music and the spoken word never overshadow one another, but rather elevate each other. The program will also feature romances and songs performed by Nijolė, weaving organically into the poetry. “About You and For You” is a program exploring love, femininity, the fragility of life, and hope.
