“About You and For You”

On September 27, we invite you to Paliesius Manor for a special evening of music and poetry, “About You and For You.” Created by actress Nijolė Narmontaitė and accordion master Andrius Balachovičius, this is a program crafted for the soul.

This is more than a simple poetry reading. A musical-literary performance awaits, where Nijolė will recite the verses of her favorite authors, deeply living out every word. Andrius Balachovičius is one of the finest accordion virtuosos in Lithuania—his instrument becomes a second voice, complementing the poetry, lending it drama, a touch of French charm, and melancholy, weaving a rich atmosphere. Andrius can coax an orchestral sound from his accordion, rising from a quiet whisper to powerful chords. Their duet is celebrated precisely because the music and words never overshadow one another, but rather intertwine to amplify the emotion. The evening will also feature romances and songs performed by Nijolė, seamlessly woven into the spoken texts. “About You and For You” is a program about love, femininity, the fragility of life, and hope.
