“About You and For You”

On September 27, we invite you to Paliesius Manor for a special evening of music and poetry, “About You and For You.” Created by actress Nijolė Narmontaitė and accordion master Andrius Balachovičius, this is a program crafted for the soul.

This is more than a simple poetry reading. A musical and literary performance awaits, where Nijolė will recite the verses of her favorite authors, living and breathing every word. Andrius Balachovičius is one of the finest accordion virtuosos in Lithuania—his instrument will act as a second voice to complement the poetry, infusing it with drama, French charm, and melancholy to set the atmosphere. Andrius has a gift for drawing an orchestral sound from the accordion, ranging from a quiet whisper to powerful chords. Their duet is celebrated for the way the music and the spoken word never overshadow, but only amplify each other. The program will also feature romances and songs performed by Nijolė, organically weaving into the texts. “About You and For You” is a program about love, femininity, the fragility of life, and hope.
