June 13, 6 PM | Mille Affetti: Bruno de Sá (Brazil)
The renowned male soprano Bruno de Sá arrives at Paliesius Manor. The Brazilian soprano debuted in 2015 performing the main role – Sesto in Mozart’s opera „La clemenza di Tito“ at São Paulo’s „Teatro São Pedro“ – and received excellent reviews. Since then, he has performed numerous important roles, captivated critics and audiences in many countries, and released two solo albums. In 2020, he received the „OPER!“ award, and in 2022, he triumphed in the „ForumOpéra“ trophy category „Best Newcomer of the Year“. At Paliesius Manor, with pianist Marcos Vinicius Vieira, he will present the audience with wonderful music by Mozart and his contemporaries from his second solo album „Mille Affetti“.
June 20, 5 PM | „Beyond the Boundaries and Beyond Silence: From Grieg to a Contemporary Premiere“
This is an exceptional evening of chamber music where the depth of romanticism meets the boldness of contemporary music. The first part of the concert will feature two sonatas for violin and piano by Edvard Grieg, full of Scandinavian lyricism, and Boris Papandopulo’s „Monologue“ for solo violin – a concentrated, expressive piece. Pianist, Vytautas Magnus University Music Academy professor Donaldas Račys and Israeli violinist Evgenia Epshtein will appear on stage – performers known for their mature interpretation, sensitive musical dialogue, and broad artistic perspective. In the second part of the concert, two prominent figures of the Lithuanian music scene will join: percussionist Arkadijus Gotesmanas and bassist Eugenijus Kanevičius. The audience will hear a premiere in Lithuania: American composer Eugene Levit’s work for violin, piano, percussion, and bass guitar „Behind and Beyond“, a composition that transcends genre boundaries.
June 23, 7 PM | Summer Solstice Improvisation
Midsummer (Joninės) is celebrated with music! The concert „Summer Solstice Improvisation“ awaits – a journey through a forest of sounds with Japanese cellist Chie Narita, pianist, singer Ieva Marija Baranauskaitė, and percussionist Mykolas Baranauskas. Japanese artist Chie Narita, who will be performing at Paliesius Manor and with Ieva Marija Baranauskaitė not for the first time, states that she is fascinated by Lithuanian nature and people, feeling a deep connection with them. This time, she will perform ancient Japanese songs, inseparable from nature, and her own compositions. Ieva Baranauskaitė and Mykolas Baranauskas, sister and brother, are artists constantly experimenting in the musical field, often venturing into the fringes of music where music meets arts such as theater, sound design, cinema, literature, dance, or painting. Their improvisational project „Such’a’Trip: Open Session“ is a different kind of concert, a concept and a symbol embodying the group’s objectives and aspirations.
June 27, 4 PM | With Love, Barbra Streisand
Evelina Sašenko’s concert „With Love, Barbra Streisand“ will be performed. Barbra Streisand is one of the most successful singers of all time, an actress, writer, and music legend, who has earned the respect of a huge army of listeners and become a true icon for younger generation artists. Organizing a concert of Streisand’s songs was an old dream of Evelina Sašenko – now a reality and met with abundant audience ovations. „This singer is like a teacher to me, whom I look up to, whose recordings I listen to the most,“ says E. Sašenko. Evelina included works from the musicals „Funny Girl“, „Cats“, and many other popular Streisand songs in the concert program. During the performance, her long-time stage partner, pianist Paulius Zdanavičius, will play the piano alongside Evelina.
