Don’t miss this exceptional concert!

The excellent young male soprano Bruno de Sá has already received numerous wonderful reviews, and his extraordinary voice and exceptional musicality amaze professionals, critics, and audiences.

In 2015, he debuted in the leading role – Sesto in Mozart’s opera “La clemenza di Tito” at São Paulo’s “Teatro São Pedro”: “a triumph… an international career awaits…”, critics stated (concerto.com.br). In the 2016–2017 season, he returned to Teatro São Pedro as Gherardino (“Gianni Schicchi”), Harry (“Albert Herring”), Cherubino (“The Marriage of Figaro”), and First Lady (“The Magic Flute”). At the 20th “Amazonas de Ópera” festival, he performed the role of the Shepherd in “Tannhäuser” and was a soloist in the concert “Triunfo da Voz”, dedicated to the great castrato Farinelli: “Bruno de Sá captivated the audience…” (L’Opera).

In 2019, Bruno de Sá debuted in Europe and enchanted many audiences with his interpretation of Aci in Bononcini’s opera “Polifemo” (music director – Dorothee Oberlinger (“Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci” festival and Margravial Opera House Bayreuth)). In the 2019–2020 season, Bruno de Sá joined the Basel Theatre’s Young Artists Program, where he sang as Die Kleine Meerjungfrau in Jherek Bischoff’s production of “Andersens Erzählungen”, conducted by Thomas Wise (world premiere), and sang Barbarina in Figaro’s opera “The Marriage of Figaro”, conducted by Christian Curnyn. He sang Sesto in Händel’s “Giulio Cesare”, conducted by Peter Konwitschny (“Oper Halle”), as well as Isacio in Hasse’s “Irene” with the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra (“Musiikkitalo Helsinki” and “Theater an der Wien”).

In subsequent seasons, he returned to Bayreuth to sing as Berardo in Max Emanuel Cenčić’s production of Porpora’s “Carlo il Calvo” (Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival). Later, he performed the role of Abel in Scarlatti’s opera “Il Primo Omicidio”, conducted by Philippe Jaroussky (at Opéra de Montpellier and Salzburg Whitsun Festival), as well as Volusio in Hasse’s opera “Cajo Fabricio” with “{oh!} Orkiestra” (in Gliwice and Vienna). At the end of the season, he sang Nero in Händel’s “Agrippina”, directed by Staffan Waldemar Holm and conducted by Francesco Corti (Drottningholm). Among other concert performances: a concert program at the Essen Philharmonie (Ruben Dubrowsky) and a Gala concert at the Vienna State Opera alongside baroque stars such as Cecilia Bartoli and Max Emanuel Cenčić.

The rising soprano star will begin the 2024–2025 season with “Grain of the Voice” – a contemporary pastiche directed by Ligiana Costa and conducted by André Dos Santos (“Theatro São Pedro”, Brazil). Together with Francesco Corti and “il pomo d’Oro”, he will sing his first Oberto in Händel’s opera “Alcina” (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris, “Teatro Real” Madrid, and “Theater an der Wien” Vienna). Another highlight of the season is his debut at Berlin’s “Komische Oper Berlin” singing the role of Donna Elvira in Mozart’s opera “Don Giovanni” in a production signed by Kirill Serebrennikov and conducted by James Gaffigan.
