Bruno de Sá is one of the most remarkable phenomena in today’s opera world, and one of its finest, most captivating male sopranos—an exceptionally rare voice type.
Born in Brazil, the artist was surrounded by music from his very earliest days. His parents sang in the church choir, and Bruno himself made his stage debut at just two years old. “My earliest memories are tied to singing,” he once shared.
In 2015, he made his debut in a leading role—singing Sesto in Mozart’s “La clemenza di Tito” at the “Teatro São Pedro” in São Paulo—and met with resounding success. Critics showered him with praise, foretelling a brilliant international career. A few years later, the singer made his European debut, performing at baroque festivals and on countless prestigious stages, collaborating with renowned ensembles.
The singer has already released two solo albums and earned numerous accolades, including an “OPER!” Award in 2020, the “Best Newcomer of the Year” trophy from “ForumOpéra” in 2022, and the Austrian Music Theater Award in 2024 for his role as Aminta in the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music’s production of Vivaldi’s “L’Olimpiade”.
Bruno de Sá loves to break stereotypes and firmly believes that roles should not be confined by gender. One of his most significant roles is Donna Elvira in the opera “Don Giovanni”—a performance that made him the first man in history to embody this character.
On June 13, he arrives at Paliesius Manor to present his second solo album, “Mille Affetti”. Don’t miss it!
