“Roots and Currents” is a living dialogue between two elements. In the concert, the voice of the saxophone and electronic textures will merge into a constantly changing soundscape, where earth and movement, tradition and the future, form and spontaneity meet. The roots symbolize acoustic sound, the natural breathing of the instrument, and musical origins, while the currents represent electronics and constantly flowing energy.
Karolis Šarkus is a saxophonist and composer, one of the most active and progressive young creators in the Lithuanian jazz scene.
