Pianist Martín García García was born in Gijón, Spain. He began his musical studies at the age of five with teachers Natalia Mazouni and Ilya Goldfarb. Martín graduated from the Reina Sofía School of Music, where he studied in the class of Galina Eguiazarova—and received the Most Outstanding Student award from Her Majesty Queen Sofía. The pianist also completed his Master’s degree in Piano at the Mannes School of Music in New York.

Martín has won first prizes in numerous national and international competitions. Most notably, he won First Prize at the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition, as well as Third Prize and the special award for the best concerto performance at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. The performer also secured first prize at the 2018 International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York—following this victory, the pianist received a scholarship that allowed him to settle in the city. Over the past two years in New York, studying under the renowned pianist Jerome Rose, Martín has completed his musical studies.

Martín has performed as a soloist in various halls across Europe and the United States. His performances have been highly praised by renowned musicians and pianists, including Vladimir Krainev, Dmitri Alexeev, Arcadi Volodos, Dmitri Bashkirov, Joaquín Achúcarro, Tatiana Copeland (Sergei Rachmaninoff’s second cousin), and others. The performer was also invited to participate in the International Ruhr Piano Festival, where he was sponsored by maestro Radu Lupu.

Following his highly successful October 2021 performance at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Martín has planned several musical tours in Japan, Europe, and the United States.
