Description
Jean-Marc Luisada describes himself as a man of the 19th century, often emphasizing his love for the past that lies hidden within music. Renowned as a poet of the piano, he is distinguished by his exceptional grace and unexpected interpretations. The charming J.M. Luisada plays directly for the soul of his audience—though occasionally, he also enjoys sharing a lighthearted moment on stage.
The pianist attended his very first piano lesson at the age of six in Paris, where he was taught by Denyse Riviere and Marcel Ciampi. He later continued his studies in Great Britain at the Yehudi Menuhin School, and at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He mastered the secrets of the piano under the guidance of Dominique Merlet, Geneviève Joy-Dutilleux, Nikita Magaloff, Paul Badura-Skoda, Milosz Magin, and others.
J.M. Luisada is a laureate of the international Dino Ciani competition in Milan (1983) and the Fryderyk Chopin competition in Warsaw (1985). He collaborates with prominent European orchestras under the direction of Charles Dutoit, Adam Fischer, Michael Plasson, and other masters of the baton. The pianist performs chamber music alongside the Fine Arts, Sine Nomine, Kocian, and Talich quartets, as well as with other renowned instrumentalists. His career is marked by worldwide tours, albums released by Deutsche Grammophon, Sony, RCA Red Seal, and others, and French orders of merit in the fields of arts and literature. Currently, the pianist teaches at the Alfred Cortot music school in Paris.
