On July 11–12, Paliesius Manor hosted the magnificent “Kremerata Baltica” Festival, featuring one of today’s most renowned violinists, Gidon Kremer, the Grammy Award-winning orchestra he founded, “Kremerata Baltica,” and a selection of distinguished guest soloists—on the saxophone was the winner of numerous accolades, including a Grammy, the American Joe Lovano; on the piano was one of Finland’s most fascinating musicians, instantly recognizable by his style, Olli Mustonen; on the violin was the young Belgian violinist Pauline van der Rest, who has earned multiple first prizes in national and international competitions; and on the vibraphone was the principal percussionist of “Kremerata Baltica,” often hailed as a true magician, the Ukrainian Andrei Pushkarev. Texts were read by the renowned actor, musician, and reciter Giedrius Arbačiauskas.
