There is perhaps nothing more intimate in music than a violin and cello duet, a closeness that fully unfolds in some of the most exquisite opuses by Zoltán Kodály and Maurice Ravel. Alongside these “great” duets, the program will feature “Castillio Interior” by one of today’s most prominent Latvian composers, Pēteris Vasks—a piece that feels like a musical prayer—as well as “Dialogai” by the legendary Lithuanian composer Anatolijus Šenderovas (a work dedicated to the duo, whose premiere met with great success in the Netherlands). At the heart of the concert is the intriguing world premiere of Domenico Turi’s “Aspasia”. In addition to a masterful performance by a duo that a Dutch newspaper dubbed the “Dream Duo,” guests can look forward to an exhibition by artist Mindaugas Juodis.
The “Dream Duo”—this was how the Dutch newspaper “Noordhollands Dagblad” described the concert by Dalia Dėdinskaitė and Gleb Pyšniak in Haarlem, the Netherlands. These talented musicians, who perform extensively around the world, will present a long-nurtured chamber music program.
Dalia Dėdinskaitė and Gleb Pyšniak are among the most brilliant Lithuanian performers of the younger generation, actively performing both in Lithuania and abroad. Having performed together for many years, the duo delights audiences with their exceptional mastery and unmatched ensemble synergy, captivating listeners and music critics alike.
