On March 22, 2025, Paliesius Manor hosted the first performance in the Baltic States by legendary singer and countertenor Gérard Lesne and the baroque ensemble “Le Concert Universel”!
The countertenor is inherently a very rare voice type and the highest of male operatic voices—moreover, G. Lesne is gifted with a voice whose upper register is bright, while his powerful lower register is characterized by an exceptional softness that many singers achieve only after long years of demanding work. Although he began his musical career as a rock singer, today G. Lesne is one of the most important early music performers in the world, welcomed in the most renowned halls, having released over 70 highly acclaimed and award-winning albums, and having received the prestigious title of Chevalier of the French Order of Arts and Letters.
