April 12th marks a truly special day at Paliesius Manor. For the very first time, we will welcome the legendary electronic music pioneer William Basinski, who arrives as part of his 2025 world tour. This is an unmissable occasion for any admirer of electronic and ambient music!

William Basinski is a classically trained musician who has been working with experimental media in New York and California for over 40 years. Employing obsolete technology and analog tape loops, he explores the transience of life through mesmerizing and melancholic soundscapes, resonating with the echoes of memory and the mysteries of time. His four-disc masterpiece, “The Disintegration Loops,” received widespread international critical acclaim and was chosen as one of the top 50 albums of 2004 by Pitchfork Media. The Deluxe LP box set reissue, released by Temporary Residence in 2012, was named best reissue of the year and awarded a perfect 10 by Pitchfork.

His installations and films, created in collaboration with artist and filmmaker James Elaine, have been presented at international festivals and museums, and his concerts consistently sell out to audiences worldwide. Music director Antony Hegarty selected William Basinski to compose the music for Robert Wilson’s opera “The Life and Death of Marina Abramović,” which had its world premiere in July 2011 at the Manchester International Festival, toured Europe in 2012, and traveled to North America in 2013. Orchestral transcriptions of “The Disintegration Loops” by Maxim Moston have been performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Queen Elizabeth Hall, La Batie Festival in Geneva, Switzerland, the Dark Mofo Festival in Hobart, Tasmania, and most recently at the Pitchfork Midwinter Festival with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. William Basinski is currently touring the world presenting his work “On Time Out of Time,” which was released on March 8, 2019, by Temporary Residence/2062/USA.

Hinako Omori is a London-based Japanese artist. Her music consists of immersive sonic architectures and environments that process and access emotional states through binaural field recording or multichannel installations, ambient synthesizers, vocal music, and classical arrangement and composition. Her textures and multi-layered approach to composition have garnered critical acclaim: Pitchfork described her debut album “a journey…” as “extraordinary,” while Loud and Quiet called it “blissfully refreshing.” Hinako Omori has performed internationally, from venues such as St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Southbank Centre to DJ sets at the Tate Modern in London and the POLA Museum in Japan.

SECRETS OF WHITE AND RED FRENCH WINES. OPEN AFTERNOON WITH A BEVERAGE EXPERT

Before the concert by legendary electronic music creator William Basinski and Hinako Omori, we invite you to discover French wines at Paliesius Manor! From 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Manor wine cellar, a beverage expert will be waiting for you, ready to answer your every question.

The Manor wine cellar holds over 200 select wines from different regions of France: Provence, Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhône and Loire valleys, and Alsace. Shaped by diverse grape varietals, soil and climate conditions, and time-honored production traditions, each region possesses its own unique characteristics that define the flavor of its wine. Indeed, even wines from the very same region can differ wonderfully—sometimes, all it takes is a shift to the very next vineyard!

White and red wines have many differences, from their production to their taste. French white wines, made from grapes such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, are often distinguished by their crisp freshness, minerality, and subtle fruit or floral aromas, and can be either dry or sweet. Red wines, by contrast, are richer and more tannic, offering a more complex flavor profile, and are crafted from grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Pinot Noir.

If you wish to navigate this abundance without getting lost, and to uncover the subtle nuances of French wine, we warmly invite you to visit our open afternoon. Our beverage expert will be on hand to guide you, sharing fascinating insights and recommending the absolute best wine tailored to your desires.

We welcome all wine lovers—from curious beginners to seasoned gourmands! Come take a journey through the world of French wine.
