April 12 promises a truly special day at Paliesius Manor. For the first time, the estate will welcome the legendary electronic music composer William Basinski, arriving as part of his 2025 world tour. This is an event no admirer of electronic and ambient music should miss!

William Basinski is a classically trained musician who has devoted more than 40 years to working with experimental media in New York and California. Employing obsolete technology and analog tape loops, he explores the transience of life through mesmerizing, melancholic soundscapes that resonate with the echoes of memory and the mysteries of time. His 4-disc masterpiece, “The Disintegration Loops,” garnered international critical acclaim, with Pitchfork Media naming it one of the 50 best albums of 2004. The 2012 Temporary Residence Deluxe vinyl box set reissue was celebrated as the best reissue of the year, earning a perfect 10 from Pitchfork.

His installations and films, created in collaboration with artist and filmmaker James Elaine, have been presented at international festivals and museums, while tickets to W. Basinski’s concerts regularly sell out worldwide. Music director Antony Hegarty selected W. Basinski to compose the music for Robert Wilson’s opera “The Life and Death of Marina Abramović,” which saw its world premiere in July 2011 at the Manchester International Festival; the opera toured Europe in 2012 and North America in 2013. Orchestral transcriptions of “The Disintegration Loops” by Maxim Moston have been performed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Queen Elizabeth Hall, La Batie Festival in Geneva, Switzerland, Dark Mofo Festival in Hobart, Tasmania, and recently at the Pitchfork Midwinter Festival with the Chicago Philharmonic. Currently, W. Basinski is presenting his work “On Time Out of Time” across the globe, released on March 8, 2019, via Temporary Residence/2062/USA.

Hinako Omori is a London-based Japanese artist. Her music weaves immersive sonic architectures and environments where emotional states are processed and accessed through binaural recording, multichannel installations, ambient synthesizers, vocal music, and classical arrangements. The evocative textures and her multilayered approach to composition have earned critical acclaim: her debut album, “a journey…”, was hailed as “remarkable” by Pitchfork magazine, and “blissfully refreshing” by Loud and Quiet. Hinako Omori has performed internationally, gracing spaces ranging from St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Southbank Centre to DJ sets at the Tate Modern in London and the POLA Museum in Japan.

SECRETS OF FRENCH WHITE AND RED WINES. OPEN AFTERNOON WITH A BEVERAGE EXPERT

Before the concert by legendary electronic music creator William Basinski and Hinako Omori, we invite you to discover French wines at Paliesius Manor! From 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a beverage expert will await you in the Manor wine cellar, ready to answer any questions you may have.

The Manor wine cellar holds over 200 select wines from various French regions: Provence, Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhône and Loire Valleys, and Alsace. Shaped by diverse grape varieties, soil and climate conditions, and long-standing production traditions, each region possesses unique characteristics that define the taste of its wine. Indeed, even wines from the same region can vary greatly—sometimes, simply originating from a neighboring vineyard makes all the difference!

White and red wines differ vastly, from their production methods to their flavor. French white wines, crafted from grapes such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc, are often characterized by their crispness, minerality, and subtle fruity or floral aromas, and can be either dry or sweet. Red wines, on the other hand, are richer and more tannic, often boasting a more complex flavor profile; they are produced from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Pinot Noir.

If you wish to navigate this abundance with ease and discover the subtleties of French wines, we invite you to join our open afternoon. Our beverage expert will guide you, sharing fascinating insights and recommending the perfect wine tailored to your wishes.

We welcome all wine lovers—from curious beginners to seasoned gourmands! Take a journey through the world of French wine.
