At Paliesius Manor, the Kublickiai—who had always cared more about the estate’s economy than outward prestige—built the so-called new manor house in 1830. Concerts were held here, and a piano stood within its walls. Yet as early as 1831, the manor became one of the centers of the uprisings—and following the tragic end of the rebellion, the Kublickiai were forced to retreat to Prussia and lost the estate.
