May is a colorful month. So many blossoms, green buds, warmth, and sunlight! The repertoire at Paliesius Manor this month is equally diverse. We begin the month with a solo concert by Polish jazz superstar Leszek Możdżer, while the second weekend carries us to warm Italy alongside tenor Donato Ravini and the music of bel canto. The third weekend welcomes two prominent Lithuanian jazz artists—saxophone grandmaster Petras Vyšniauskas and pianist Egidijus Buožis—and the final weekend brings the impressive concert “Dedikacija M.K. Čiurlioniui,” performed by the Šiauliai Chamber Orchestra “Camerata Solaris,” conducted by Vilhelmas Čepinskis, and cellist Elena Daunytė.

May 3, 18:00 | Leszek Możdżer solo
Jazz superstar—pianist and composer Leszek Możdżer—arrives at Paliesius Manor for the very first time. The artist is one of the most fascinating Polish jazz phenomena of recent decades, having brought a mental and stylistic revolution to the jazz of his native country. He has woven complex jazz phrases, multi-layered improvisations, the melodic models of jazz standards, and compositional subtlety into a highly specific jazz framework—one where there is no audible attempt to overwhelm the listener with abundance, nor any trace of commercialism or arrogance. The pianist has collaborated with such artists as David Gilmour, Lars Danielsson, and Zohar Fresco; he has received numerous awards, and his discography spans over 100 albums.
May 10, 16:00 | Italian Tenors Bel Canto (Il Bel Canto dei tenori Italiani)
Italian tenor Donato Ravini and pianist Lina Giedraitytė will perform at Paliesius Manor. They invite us to remember the great masters of the Italian stage—featuring works from the repertoire of great Italian tenors of the past, from Enrico Caruso to Luciano Pavarotti.
Tenor Donato Ravini has been performing in Lithuania since 2014. As a singer and artistic director, he participates in performances with various famous artists, organizes classical performances with pianists and orchestras, and creates classical shows and concerts that earn enthusiastic acclaim from both the public and the press. Lina Giedraitytė is a pianist at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and a concertmaster-assistant at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA), who has performed with numerous notable musicians.
May 17, 16:00 | VYŠNIAUSKAS / BUOŽIS
A special concert by two prominent Lithuanian artists—saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas and pianist Egidijus Buožis. Petras Vyšniauskas is a musician of rare versatility, one of the pioneers of the Lithuanian professional saxophone school, and one of the country’s most titled jazz creators. His honors include the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts, the Government of the Republic of Lithuania Art Prize, the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas 5th Class, and dozens of other awards. Egidijus Buožis is a jazz pianist, composer, producer, and professor of music, awarded the “Golden Disc” by the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union. The artist has mastered a broad repertoire: from well-known jazz standards to original contemporary jazz compositions featuring elements of be-bop, hard-bop, cool, fusion, acid, and ethno-jazz.
