Spring is gathering momentum, nature is unfurling its multicolored blossoms, and Paliesius Manor is following suit! This month, a truly vibrant palette of sounds awaits listeners in the Pasaga concert hall. We open the month with “Songs of the Motherland”, a performance by a Ukrainian ethno-jazz trio, and by mid-month, we look forward to two appearances by the legendary American electronic music creator William Basinski, with an opening set by musician Hinako Omori. In the second half of April, classical notes will resound: Japanese pianist Tamana Tanaka will give her first performance at the Manor. We will celebrate the Sunday after Easter with “Muzika sielai”, a musical gift from the charming vocalist Judita Leitaitė, violinist Paulina Daukšytė, pianist Jurijus Suchanovas, and others.

April 5, 16:00 | “Songs of the Motherland” (Lithuania / Ukraine)
The “Songs of the Motherland” concert will feature jazz arrangements of Ukrainian and Lithuanian folk songs. The synthesis of jazz and folk music is a new and still rarely encountered musical phenomenon in Lithuania. The compositions of jazz pianist, arranger, and composer Andrey Polevyakov—whose mastery of arrangement and virtuosic playing never fail to impress listeners—blend intriguing harmonies and fresh colors, all while maintaining a modern resonance and a deep connection to the national cultures of Ukraine and Lithuania. Maryna Pylypenko is not only a vocalist but also a cultural figure nurturing Ukrainian traditions in Lithuania. “Maryna sings with her heart,” audiences share after her performances. Tymur Pylypenko will envelop the piano notes and vocals in the rich rhythm of percussion.
April 12, 18:00 and 20:30 | William Basinski (electronic music, USA)
Making his Paliesius debut, American electronic music creator William Basinski arrives as part of his 2025 world tour. A classically trained musician, he has worked with experimental media in New York and California for over 40 years. Using obsolete technologies and analog tape loops, the artist explores the transience of life through melancholic soundscapes. His four-disc masterpiece, *The Disintegration Loops*, received international critical acclaim, with *Pitchfork Media* selecting it as one of the 50 best albums of 2004. Opening the evening is London-based Japanese artist and ambient electronic creator Hinako Omori. Her crafted textures and multi-layered approach to composition have earned widespread praise: her debut album, *a journey…*, was hailed as “extraordinary” by *Pitchfork* and “blissfully refreshing” by *Loud and Quiet*.
