One of the most talented contemporary pianists, Martín García García, is returning to Paliesius Manor! Having first appeared at Paliesius—and in Lithuania overall—in the fall of 2022, where he completely enchanted the audience, the artist has prepared a new program to present in the Paliesius Concert Hall on May 4, 2024. Do not miss the opportunity to hear this remarkable talent!

Born in Gijón, Spain, in 1996, the 26-year-old pianist Martín García García is already considered one of the brightest classical pianists of our time.

In 2023, the pianist performed around 80 concerts worldwide (in the Americas, Asia, and Europe), making his debut in Korea, Mexico, and Brazil. He also visited Japan, the United States, Canada, Poland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Lithuania, and Luxembourg, delivering impressive recitals and playing alongside such prestigious orchestras as the NHK Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, Hamburg Symphony, Warsaw Philharmonic, Lithuanian National Symphony, and Brazilian Orchestras.

Martín García García’s performances have been highly praised by various musicians and pianists, including Vladimir Kraniev, Dmitri Alexeev, Arcadi Volodos, Dimitri Bashkirov, Joaquín Achúcarro, Tatiana Copeland (Sergei Rachmaninoff’s second cousin), and others.

The pianist has won first prizes in numerous national and international competitions. Most notably, he won First Prize at the 2021 Cleveland International Piano Competition, as well as Third Prize and the special award for the best concerto performance at the XVIII International Chopin Piano Competition.

Martín García García graduated from the Reina Sofía School of Music, where he studied in the class of Galina Eguiazarova—and received the Most Outstanding Student award from Her Majesty Queen Sofía. The pianist also completed a three-year Master’s degree in piano at the Mannes School of Music in New York with the renowned pianist Jerome Rose.

He began his musical studies at the age of five with teachers Natalia Mazouni and Ilya Goldfarb, and before he was twelve, he had already gained recognition in various competitions, such as “Piano Junior Barcelona” in 2005, the Antón García Abril competition in Teruel and the “Santa Cecilia Prize” in Segovia in 2006, in San Sebastián in 2008, “Rotary International” in Moscow in 2008, and the “Permanent Competition of Spanish Youth Musicians” in Alcalá de Henares in 2008.

The year 2022 marked a special turning point in the pianist’s career: he performed over 70 concerts worldwide, taking the stage at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and the National Music Auditorium in Madrid. His tour of Japan was remarkably successful, drawing 25,000 attendees across 14 performances. Furthermore, that year he released his debut album, “Chopin and His Master”, which he produced himself and recorded at the Fazioli piano factory in Sacile, Italy. The album features works by J. S. Bach, F. Chopin, F. Liszt, and A. Scriabin, reflecting the repertoire he developed during the 2021–2022 season.

Martín García García carries a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to serve humanity. He approaches every concert with profound purpose. No matter where the performance takes place or what kind of audience gathers, he believes he has something meaningful to offer to every person who chooses to come and listen to him.

EXPLORATION OF THE WORLD OF BURGUNDY WINE AND AN OPEN AFTERNOON WITH A BEVERAGE EXPERT

Did you know just how wonderfully diverse wines crafted from “Chardonnay” grapes can be? What are the true hallmarks of Burgundy winemaking? How many exquisite subtleties do Burgundy wines hold?

The vineyards of this region possess a truly unique “terroir.” Since 2015, they have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, encompassing as many as 1,247 distinct vineyards. The wines crafted here reveal vastly different aromas, flavors, and finishes—even though they are produced from the same grape variety, they are never blended! Burgundy is defined by the “Pinot noir” grape variety, which yields its red wines, and “Chardonnay,” which gives rise to its whites. In no other wines is the sense of origin so vividly felt as in those from Burgundy.

During our afternoon of Burgundy wine discovery on May 4, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, beverage connoisseur Juozas Kabašinskas awaits you in the Manor wine cellar. He will be there to welcome you, converse, and offer his guidance. Guests who wish to partake may taste 6–8 varieties of white wine for a modest fee. And should you prefer to simply satisfy your curiosity without a tasting, our expert’s advice is offered entirely free of charge!
