More

The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra’s program will resonate with the great Viennese classics: Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Ludwig van Beethoven, whose 250th anniversary of birth the entire world is celebrating this year. Beethoven perfected the creative explorations begun by Haydn and continued by Mozart, ultimately shaping the classical traditions of musical forms and genres. These three composers are known as the Viennese classics because it was in Vienna that they composed their most magnificent works.

In the program “The Great Viennese Classics,” the acclaimed French pianist Jean-Marc Luisada will perform alongside the Klaipėda musicians. He is celebrated as a poet of the piano, distinguished by his exceptional grace and unexpected interpretations. It is said that this charming artist plays directly to the audience’s soul. Returning for his second concert at the KKS, the soloist won the Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw over three decades ago, opening the door to international recognition. Invitations to perform in the world’s most renowned concert halls alongside illustrious orchestras continue to pour in to this day. J. M. Luisada has been decorated with French orders for his contributions to the arts and literature.

J. M. Luisada and the orchestra, under the direction of Mindaugas Bačkus, will interpret J. Haydn’s Concerto No. 11 and W. A. Mozart’s Concerto No. 9 (“Jenamy”) for piano and orchestra. The Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will also perform a version of L. van Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 11 (“Serioso”) for string orchestra.
