On July 5, the renowned pianist Andrius Žlabys returns to Paliesius Manor!
Known to many as an exceptional artist, characterized by a unique philosophy of sound and simply excellent interpretations of classical and contemporary works for piano, Andrius Žlabys, nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award, is one of the most renowned contemporary Lithuanian pianists, having gained international recognition. He is globally acclaimed for his ‘effortless’ virtuosity, generous and all-encompassing sound, enchanting interpretations, and richness of musical understanding.
Andrius Žlabys went to the USA to study piano art and was soon noticed there as a ‘shining hope of the piano’ (newspaper ‘The New York Sun’). Later, the performer concertized with many famous symphony orchestras worldwide, including the New York Philharmonic, Boston, Cleveland, Rotterdam, Buenos Aires, and others. The laureate of numerous international competitions performs his concerts in world-renowned halls such as ‘Avery Fisher Hall’, ‘Lincoln Center’, ‘Concertgebouw’, ‘Carnegie Hall’, ‘Phillips Collection’, ‘Teatro Colón’, ‘Wigmore Hall’, ‘Vienna’s Musikverein and Suntory Hall’, etc. And among the musicians he has had the opportunity to work with, names like Yuri Bashmet, Hilary Hahn, Gidon Kremer, and many others shine. Special guest of the evening: violist Justinas Žlabys, born in New Haven, Connecticut. Music accompanied him from childhood, growing up in a family of musicians. Justinas started learning to play the violin at ‘Music Haven’ school when he was just 4 years old. During his early musical education, Justinas actively performed in the local community – in Veterans’ hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries, etc. Since 2020, Justinas has been studying at Boston’s ‘Walnut Hill’ School for the Arts.
After the concert, Andrius Žlabys’ personal photography exhibition will be presented at Paliesius Manor.
